OUR LADY'S PRIMARY SCHOOL

Our Lady's is a Catholic Primary School that endeavours, along with you, to prepare your child for life in our Australian society in the 21st Century.

Our Lady's Primary School is located in the suburb of Craigieburn, a developing residential area, twenty five kilometres north of Melbourne on the Hume Highway.

In 1963, land was purchased in Craigieburn Road, for the purpose of a future church. The Sisters of St Joseph Motor Mission, together with a few ladies of the Parish formed a catechist group to work with children from the local primary school in preparation for the sacraments. In 1974 Dallas Parish took charge of Craigieburn.
Our Lady's Primary School was officially blessed and opened in February 1980, with an enrolment of 80 students and 4 teachers

The school is one of two school in the parish of Craigieburn, the other being Good Samaritan Primary that was opened in 1996 at Roxburgh Park, approximately 4 kilometres to the south.

From the years 1980 to 1990 the school grew rapidly, from 77 students in 1980 to 432 in 1990.

The last 10 years have seen a slowing of growth and at present the school has an enrolment of approximately 565 students and a staff of 47.

Together, as parents and teachers, we will work to offer an all rounded educational program that will support the development of each child spiritually, academically, emotionally and socially.

May your time as a member of Our Lady's school community be rewarding to you and your family.

Mary-C. Penny
Principal

SCHOOL PRAYER

Mary Our Mother,
We ask you to watch over Our Lady's Primary School;
Our students, staff and families,
Help us to make our school a happy & peaceful place.
Help us to be respectful of each other,
To do our best,
And to be welcoming to everyone as we work & play
together.

OUR LADY'S SCHOOL CROSS

Near the front of Our Lady's school office, there stands a beautiful
cross. This cross is filled with stones - each child and staff member
placed a stone into our Cross.

The cross is an important Christian symbol, but the school cross
symbolises more than the fact that this is a Catholic school ...
It symbolises that each person in our community is important, that we all
work together and that everyone has a place in Our Ladys' community.

We are very proud of our Cross and would like to thank Mr. John Oaten, our
maintenance man, for creating it, and all the members of our community for
their contributions.
